I'm Jo โ GDC registered dental hygienist, founder of The Sparkle Fairy, and passionate believer that great dental care should come to you, not the other way round. With over 20 years as a registered dental professional, I bring the very best of private practice care directly to your home, care home or office.
Why I started
The Sparkle Fairy
I qualified as a dental hygienist and therapist in 2002, having trained at Burkhart School of Dental Hygiene and Therapy and before that at Guy's School of Dental Nursing. My early career took me through BUPA Wellness, a stint at the Eastman Dental Hospital's periodontal department, and locum work across a range of specialist private practices.
From 2007 to 2015 I was based at Chelsea Harbour Dental Practice โ one of London's leading private practices โ working closely with principal dentists and periodontists to deliver the highest standard of hygiene and periodontal care. It was exceptional training ground, but I always believed that level of care shouldn't only be available to people who could travel to a practice.
So in 2015 I founded The Sparkle Fairy โ the UK's first private mobile dental hygiene practice. The idea was simple: bring everything I'd built over 13 years in private practice directly to patients, wherever they are. The response has been extraordinary. Over 3,000 patients later, with 100% five-star reviews and features in publications including ES Magazine, Tatler, Town & Country, BDJ Team and the BSDHT journal, I'm more convinced than ever that this is how dental hygiene should work.

Professional dental hygiene shouldn't be restrictive. Whether you're at home, in a care home setting, or at work โ you deserve professional care wherever you are.

I know my patients by name. I remember their history, their concerns, and what matters to them. This isn't a conveyor belt.

Mobile doesn't mean lesser. I bring the same equipment, the same standards, and the same rigour as any leading dental practice.

I'll always tell you what's actually best for your mouth โ not what you want to hear. Genuine, expert advice you can trust.
Compassion for nervous patients
Dental anxiety is real, and I never rush or judge. Being in your own home already makes a huge difference โ and I take everything at your pace. Many of my most loyal patients came to me having avoided dental care for years.
Autism & additional needs
I have extensive experience working with children with autism and sensory sensitivities, as well as adults with complex needs. My approach is always calm, patient, and led entirely by the individual.

Operating across England, we cover a wide area and visit both North and South regions regularly. If you don't see your location listed, just ask โ we travel further than you might think.
Where The Sparkle Fairy began. We have a large, established patient base across Surrey, Sussex and London and continue to visit this region regularly.
We've recently opened up our service to the Midlands and are now booking patients across Derbyshire and the surrounding counties, bringing the same premium mobile hygiene care to the North.
