Caring for Residents with Complex Needs
We understand that many care home residents have conditions that make traditional dental visits difficult or impossible. That's exactly why we come to them.
Dementia & Alzheimer's
We use gentle, adapted techniques and work entirely at the resident's pace in their familiar environment.
Limited mobility
All appointments are carried out in a designated private room inside the care home. If a resident is bedbound we can also treat them in their bed.
Dysphagia & dry mouth
We are trained to recognise and adapt our approach for residents with swallowing difficulties.
Anxiety & sensory sensitivity
Our unhurried, compassionate approach helps even the most anxious residents feel at ease.
We also recognise the boundaries of our scope as dental hygienists. Where we identify concerns that require a dentist's attention, we document our findings clearly and communicate them to you and the resident's family so appropriate follow-up can be arranged.
